Mrs. Melanie Davis-Hardy
Hi, Friends! My name is Melanie Davis-Hardy, and I currently teach sixth-grade science and mathematics at Yazoo County Middle School. After graduating from Benton Academy in 1991, I received my Associate of Arts Degree from Hinds Community College in 1993. In 1995, I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi College, followed by a Masters Degree in Elementary Education in 2000. Since that time, I have completed course work to become Highly Qualified to teach both mathematics and science. I served the students of the Holmes County School District from 1995-1997 and have been part of the Panther Family since that time- serving at both Bentonia-Gibbs Elementary School as well as Yazoo County Middle School. Over the course of my 28 years in education, I have been honored as the Bentonia-Gibbs Elementary School Teacher of the Year, the Mississippi Conservation Education Teacher of the Year, the Yazoo Herald Middle School Teacher of the Year, twice named as the Yazoo County Middle School Teacher of the Year, and the Yazoo County School District Teacher of the Year.
When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 26 years, Shane, our 24-year-old daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, and our 7-year-old dachshund pup, Jack. Residing in the Scotland community, I also enjoy shopping, photography, and decorating.
