Dear Students and Parents,

I am thrilled to welcome you to the new school year at Yazoo County School District! My name is Luke Edwards, and I am honored to be your Welding and ACT Prep teacher. With 25 years of teaching experience and 12 years of industry experience, I am excited to embark on this new journey with you.

My educational background includes degrees from Mississippi University and Alcorn State University, and I hold seven certifications, including two national certifications in welding. These experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for all my students.

As a native of Yazoo City, Mississippi, I am deeply connected to our community. In addition to my teaching role, I also serve as a pastor at a local church, which allows me to stay engaged with the needs and values of our community.

In my classes, students can expect a supportive and challenging environment where they will develop both practical skills and academic knowledge. Whether we are welding in the shop or preparing for the ACT, my goal is to inspire and equip each student to reach their full potential.
