Welcome to the new school year at Yazoo County High School!
My name is Erin Renfroe, and I am honored to be your lead teacher for this academic year. As a Yazoo County native who grew up in both Yazoo City and Benton, it is a special privilege for me to return to the very community where my professional educational journey began. I am thrilled to be back at Yazoo County High School, exactly where I started my teaching career 22 years ago.
I graduated from Delta State University and earned my Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi. With 17 years of teaching experience, including 3 years at the high school level and 14 years at the college level, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom. My background also includes five years as an English consultant, which has further enriched my approach to teaching.
My husband and I have been married for 25 wonderful years, and we are proud parents of three sons who attend Bentonia Gibbs Elementary School. Our family’s deep roots in this community give me a profound appreciation for the values and expectations of our local schools.
As we embark on this new school year together, my goal is to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for every student. I am committed to fostering a love of learning, encouraging personal growth, and working closely with each student to help them achieve their full potential.
Warm regards,
Erin Renfroe
