Welcome to Kindergarten!  I am entering into my 12th year of teaching Kindergarten here at Linwood Elementary. I was selected as Yazoo County School District's 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. I previously taught Pre-K at Wee Care, Inc in Madison County. I was born and raised in Yazoo County and graduated from Benton Academy in 2002.  I received my Associates degree in Fine Arts from Mississippi Delta Community College in 2005 and my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi College in 2009. I have three beautiful girls (Makenzie- 20, Aubree-12, and Mary Jules- 22 months).  I love spending time with my family, whether it be going to our daughters' sporting events or sitting at home watching a movie together. I love to read mystery books and watch Hallmark Christmas movies.  I also enjoy singing in my church choir.  As a teacher, I believe it is important for me to provide an engaging and challenging environment that is welcoming to all students and families where respect, responsibility, participation, trust, and safety are promoted. I believe that all children should be treated with equality, and that all children can learn, achieve, and succeed when given the right tools.  I believe that I have the best job in the world!
